One down...

Malorie lost her first tooth this week...the poor thing was hanging by a thread for several days. In fact, her new tooth was already showing behind the loose one. She didn't shed a tear when mom pulled it out...not until she saw a small drop of blood that is. But once her older brothers and sisters explained the wonderful magic of the tooth fairy to her, all was well!

Trunk or Treat

Last night was our Trunk-or-Treat/Chili Cook-Off at the church...it's an annual event that never has been one of my favorites, but the kids love it and I do appreciate that it's a safe place for my kids to get the trick-or-treating out of their systems!

We had a really nice turn-out!

The never ending table of chili...

Joseph and Chaylee blowing bubbles. Joseph sure does enjoy all of the attention that he gets from the older kids at church.

Jaynie catching mom and dad in a "sweet nothings" moment.

Look, Lindsay - I do too wear the boots you gave me!

Pumpkin Lane

Today was a perfect day for Pumpkin Lane. Local merchants set up tables on the sidewalk and hand out candy to children in costume! This is the first year we went and we really had fun.

I think Jared has been this same Ninja for the last four years...If he doesn't outgrow it by next Halloween, I'm going o take him to the doctor for a check up to see why he isn't getting any taller! :)

Jaynie got to be Strawberry Shortcake...I think she was this last year too! We obviously don't go all out for Halloween! The kids have caught on that all they have to do is put something on that is considered a "costume" and they get candy...easy enough!

Malorie is a cheetah this year. We've had this adorable costume for years and nobody would ever wear it. I'm pretty sure Auntie Joy made it for Katie when she was...well, small enough to wear it - and she's now in High School!

Is Joseph just too cheesy or what! LOL

Meredi-Moo! Thanks Candy - it fits perfectly!

Megan found it hard to see out from under her hat while smiling normally - it's hard being a witch sometimes! :)

Last but not least, the final kiddo who wasn't "too cool" to wear a costume to town! Way to go Jacob!

Mom dressed up as a Kangaroo...again! :)

Our family had a great time. I know we make fun of how small our home town is, but we sure do love it here!

I'm sure our kids will grow up and feel like they can't get out of this "small town" fast enough...I know someone who felt that way...and now she really appreciates raising her family in an even smaller town than the one in which she grew up -
(...and couldn't wait to get out of - live and learn.)!

Where have the Lee's been?

I'm just going to stop saying things like "I'll do better at blogging." It's obviously not going to happen. Here I am again, doing a whole camera dump and just summing up the last couple of weeks. It's not that there isn't anything going on around here - on the contrary, there is just so much going on that I barely know which end is up! (Luckily for those wearing diapers, I have been able to keep it straight.)

So here's what we've been doing:

Maddie got her hair cut again - she got it cut pretty short a couple of weeks ago, but it wasn't exactly what she wanted. So our hair-cutter-friend came back over and gave it another whirl. I love it - and I think Maddie really likes it too.

While we were sitting in church last Sunday, we saw that a lady a couple of rows ahead of us had the kind of cut Maddie wanted - so we nonchauntly took out my cell phone and snapped a picture of the back of her head...we showed it to P and sure enough, she worked her magic and made it happen!

Jason and Jacob had dentist appointments this week. A couple of fillings and a couple of extractions. I don't have any pictures of that (you're welcome) - but I do have pictures of the rest of us killing time in the waiting room by taking pictures of each other.

Whew! The canning is DONE for the year! We finished up the apple juice this week - I think we got 16-20 quarts.

I have no idea where this was taken. It just showed up on the camera - I'm not even sure if I took it or not. :) But they're sure cute!

About a week ago Brandon commented to me that last Fall seemed so much more colorful than this year. I think Mother Nature heard him because as I was driving home yesterday, I noticed that our mountain is starting to "break out" in color. I can't wait to see it in another week!

We took another trip to Grandma Janet's house. The kids sure love visiting her house...and so do I, of course!

Jacob found this recipe in a magazine at the dentist's office. We took a picture so we could make them at Thanksgiving but it didn't turn out very clear. It's a mini pumpin pie w/ pecans for a tail and a Nutterbutter for a neck/head. Then frosting was used for additional feathers and facial features (Do turkeys have facial features?). They look like fun!

So there you have it - a few of the things that have kept us busy over the last couple of weeks - at least the things that made it to the camera!

Happy Birthday To Me!

So this year I opted to pool a few gifts into one and get an adorable little pocket/purse camera!

My mom has had this same camera for a year or so now and she loves it - so it wasn't hard to talk her into telling me how wonderful it is. And now, a week later, I can do nothing but agree with her 100%.

Here are a few things that I was able to catch with the camera this week. None of it is really a big deal - just some fun shots I captured!

Usually he sticks his tongue out over his lip and calls this his "Monkey Face" - this time it was just the ears...

This little pixie just keeps getting cuter and cuter...(and so does her daddy)

Jason is taking a guitar class at school. He got an acoustic for Christmas last year and he's really pretty good. Just a couple of weeks ago a friend in his class was selling an electric guitar for $10.00 - don't know how my son walks in to deals like this, but he does. So now we get to listen to him "plugged in"...

I love Play-Doh. I used to have a real hang-up about the colors getting mixed together and the pieces falling on the floor. Now I can say that I'm 100% cured of those issues! I don't care what colors get mixed, and there is no sound more satisfying than that of dried Play-Doh getting sucked up in the vacuum. Hours of fun for the kids - Hours of semi-quiet for mom ... WIN-WIN!

Who knew an apple peeler/corer would be so fascinating??

I know I have days when I want to just drop on the floor and sleep, too!

The camera takes pictures in Black & White - which is good b/c neither my cousin, Mardi - or myself had makeup on for this picture...but boy, we have great looking teeth, eh?

And it takes pictures in Sepia...

Overall, a wonderful, wonderful little gift that I LOVE!

Catching up...

Ok, so September came and went and I feel like I missed the whole darn thing!

Here are some of the things that happened around here while September was flying by!

I know I did an entry for our pictures at Manito Park, but I forgot to add this cute "Sisters" picture of Megan, Malorie & Melanie...awwww!

We canned pears, tomatoes and peaches...(no pictures of peaches - obviously)

Megan received the Principal Pride award at her school - back in the old days, we called it Student of the Month, lol

Joesph got a little wound up after Maddie's birthday cake...no secret that we are NOT an anti-gun family around here.

Joseph & Melanie found grandpa's four-wheeler helmets while we were visiting.

The ACT like they don't want to be in the blog...but I promise, they love it! The punks!

Maddie opening her birthday presents.

Finally! A picture of the kittens that isn't just FUR! They are so cute. It's too bad they grow up and become cats though.

Meredi officially turned 6 months on the 16th. This Sunday was the 6 month mark since she was released from NICU.

Grandma and Meredi had a fun visit together - couldn't talk them into wearing four-wheeler helmets - go figure!

Mom turned 38 and the family made home-made strawberry cheesecake *yum* and dad brought home a dozen beautiful red roses.

Grandma Lee came to watch General Conference with us and say good bye before her move to Virginia this week.

My wonderful friend Amy M sent her Twilight series to me (because I'm probably the only human left on the planet who hasn't read them yet) and she included these cute flower hair clips in the box. My girlies LOVE them! They couldn't clip them to Meredi's 3 wisps of hair fast enough. Thanks Amy!

Jared had oral surgery (some tissue grafting for those of you who need more info). His sweet friend Wade brought over bubble gum ice cream to cheer him up.

Maddie and her cake - her birthday was such a rush-rush day that we had to wait until almost bedtime for the whole family to be home for cake and ice cream.

I'm sure I've left some things out - it truly has been a crazy month of go-go-go! I'd like to think October would slow down some, but with school and dentist appts, and doctor appts, and OH HEAVENS...the Holidays...just around the corner, the odds are stacked against me!
