Malorie's Birthday Dinner

(Ooops, I took these pictures with my cell phone and then forgot about them!)

For whatever reason, when we moved out into the woods back in '07, our tradition of Birthday Dinner With Mom And Dad went by the wayside. This year we have resurrected it and started off with Miss Malorie!

She chose Panda Express...I'm sure because she loves Panda Bears! She had never eaten there before!

Luckily, it was a hit...when we were done, she asked if we could go to Red Robin to get a balloon. (Luckily she settled for a bag of Gummy Worms from Walgreens instead!)

Jacob's Season Continues

Jacob's basketball season is coming to a close. I think he only has 3 games left - all being played next week!

I loved playing basketball in school and I'm loving watching Jacob play just as much - although I doubt my family is enjoying sitting by me during the games. I really do make an extra effort to only yell for the good things...and for the most part keep my other comments to myself (or low enough under my breath that only the ref hears it as he runs past me).

Jacob is doing awesome! He's scrappy and he has a decent jump shot! Good combination!

Jared's Award

We've had a busy week! This week Jared also received an award at school - the Principal Pride award!

Jared is loving the 4th Grade! It's hard to believe he's a 4th grader though...

Way to go, Jared! We're proud of you!!

Malorie's Award

Way to go Malor-eenie-roo!!

Malorie was chosen by her teacher to be this month's "Ranger of the Month". The overall focus of the assembly today was safety. The children got to go outside and see a fire truck. Then for a special treat, they got to stand directly in front of some of our local area fire fighters and paramedics and have their picture taken.

Basketball!

Tonight was Jacob's first Basketball game off the season! His team was able to pull of a win which was very exciting!

Jake plays the point guard position...which I probably didn't have to say, huh?

Jacob had a great game - he scored a couple of points, earned a couple of steals and forced the other team into several turn overs!

His team plays his mother's home town tomorrow. He's excited to have is other biggest fans (Grandma and Grandpa Thomas) at his game!

I couldn't leave out Jacob's adorable cheer leaders!

Happy New Year

Our New Year's Eve party was a wonderful success again this year! Brandon's family comes out to the house for dinner and an evening of games and visiting! I believe the final attendance count was 60!

FUN

Look, mom - I finally got your beautiful quilt hung on the wall!

Instead of ringing in the New Year with a smooch from my sweetheart - I rang it in with two very sleepy girlies!!

Merry Christmas 2009

I don't suppose anyone is interested in seeing all of the 200+ pictures that were taken of our family between Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I'll admit I don't even enjoy sifting through them...but I do love having them. So here is a quick photo documentary of the Lee's December 24th & 25th of 2009!!

Our Christmas was wonderful - we are truly blessed!

Malorie!

I just can't help myself! Seven years ago, right now, I was in the hospital at 33 weeks pregnant, contracting and dilating! My doctor had just come by for evening rounds - we talked abt the BYU vs Utah game - he looked over my chart and the baby's monitor records and said he'd leave me in the resident's capable hands and see me in the morning. Everything was fine...until about five minutes after he left the room! Without much warning alarms were dinging and beeping and buzzing - nurses were running - magnesium was being pushed, so much so that my own health was compromised. Finally my nurse ran out to the doctor's garage and stopped my OB as he was leaving. They came running back to my room and - in more of a telling than asking sort of way - our doctor told me that it was time.

Just minutes later we met Malorie Elizabeth! Malorie was our first of four preemies! We had NO IDEA what a ride we were in for!

The next 23 days were one roller-coaster ride after another. NCIU was a new experience for us -

- and for our families!

And then, just like that - she turned 7 !

Grandma and Grandpa made a trip down to visit Malorie on Saturday!

Jason played Happy Birthday for her...

When I asked her what kind of cake she wanted, she ordered "Big and Purple" - and she got it. Four layers and SEVEN pounds! (Doesn't that just make you gag a little bit?)
